many 2000-2010's vehicles have security/computer systems that run through the factory stereo (looking at you, General Motors >.<), so replacing the factory stereo usually means a special bypass unit that can be glitchy. If you want a backup camera, and basic "infotainment" integrated screens for navigation and audio, these would likely fill that void.
The question for me would be quality of the panel and components. Poor bluetooth compatibility, low visibility on the screen, and bad fit for the vehicle (blocks air vents and/or street vision on the dash, etc) would be huge considerations, but those will vary wildly by vehicle.
