If I stay in South Korea for a week and use this type of service, can I use my UsA phone? And how much does it run normally?

If your phone is unlocked and supports esim, you can use this. https://www.airalo.com/how-airalo...patibility

For South Korea here are their current rates, https://www.airalo.com/south-korea-esim

I found the trip.com app much cheaper than the big esim providers. I used it in the UK and France without issue.

I heard airalo doesn't allow you to transfer esim to a new device.

Not sure in other parts of the world, but when I travel to the Iberian Peninsula on a yearly basis, these esim providers all connect to the same networks. I found the best price to be Virgin Connect especially when they run promos. Be aware to get the Euro region plans as opposed to country specific.

T-Mobile base speed is crawl. You would need another data pack to increase

!!! WARNING!!!
While this is usable and we had personal experience with Airalo and know others who considers this cheap and useful,
do NOT choose this as an only option when travel abroad...
Had to buy buy full price SiM in ADDITION to AirAlo non-refundable, non-functioning, non-supported charge

The problem is their support (or absence of such).
While this did work at one EU country (multi country eSIM)
at another one EU it refused to connect.
The support consisted of automatic "frequently ask questions" kind of advices after me choosing my problem.
Instructions were too general and did not correlate with the actual menu options I saw.
After running into a stone wall corner, discovered that there is NO way at all contacting any support.
Desperate, tried to RE-install. This did bring back some options, but eventually run into the same situation and some menus disappeared.
At some point re-installing became unavailable, support non-existing.
You may write somewhere and they state the expected response withing a week or something.
Good if you travel for weekend or five days...

Bought regular SiM at a local shop.
(but you do not want to be across the ocean when airport shop closes)
[Samsung, established top model, neither old nor too new]

After discovering this I uninstalled the app
