Essentials Plan
Unlimited Talk and Text
-
Make as many phone calls and send as many text messages as you want — without worrying about running out or getting extra charges. Includes unlimited calling and texting from the U.S. to Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam.
After 3GB of data usage, speeds are slower.
Every plan includes 5G and 4G LTE data, for fast, reliable service, wherever you are.
3GB of 5G Data
-
This plan includes 3 gigabytes (GB) of high-speed data that runs on the latest and fastest 5G networks. You can use this for things like browsing the web, watching videos, and using apps.
3GB is roughly enough for about 60 minutes of video calls, 200 songs streamed, or 1,000 emails without large attachments.
Once you use the 3GB, your data may still work but at slower speeds until your next billing cycle.
Calling to 20 Countries
-
Includes free or low-cost calling from the U.S. to over 20 international destinations. This is helpful if you have family or friends overseas.
Includes calling to countries such as Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and many more!
Roaming
-
Roaming lets you use your phone when you're in another country. Note: Roaming is only for international coverage, not remote U.S. locations or partner coverage.
Includes roaming to 60+ countries Canada, Mexico, Australia, China, England, France, India, Italy, Spain and many more!
You get 100 minutes, 100 text messages, and 1GB of data available for use each month, in your included countries. Add credit for additional minutes, text, and data, or to access a country that's not included for free in your plan.

I believe so, can probably just check 'renewal' vs new line at checkouit. usually RP's sales are for existing and new customers.

In fact, last I recall, you have 90 days to activate a new plan, so if your current plan isn't up until say 11/1, you can buy this and redeem it on 10/31 so you don't forfeit any existing time.

But please double check all the fine print as things do change.

Att. When everything is set up it's great.
3 months after 18 months into it MMS would not work. Took three months of phone calls to Technical support there and Apple and Apple points back to Redpocket. Only way finally got fixed was issue a new eSIM. Easy. Well that screwed up my billing as I had monthly credits for buying the phone from them. Worked fine for 20 months now absolute hell with numerous phone calls all lasting at least an hour. Emails all escalated up three levels.
Making me have autopay with promises it's fixed. Nope getting full billed. Then taking off the credit but keeping the additional taxes and not refunding those.
So many calls and emails it's principle now. Two emails to CEO.
Same billing issue for 3 months now. All I get is there's a ticket and they are monitoring it. I offer to pay in advance my discounted rate through the end of the 24 months to stop the nonsense. Nope. I just want a correct bill to pay and they won't. Insist can't do any other way than autopay.
Their IT department sucks. TWO months! Their billing department you can't speak to. Customer service just gives the sorry spiel. They don't care.
When everything is set up it's great but be warned any issues you will have a very difficult time getting corrected. Tonight is probably my last day as they still can't bill me correctly and phone will cut off tomorrow. If it does it's into small claims court for breach of contract tomorrow. They don't care. You've been warned. Was fine for just over a year though. Just hope you don't have any issues. Good luck

Sorry to hear that happened to you. Have you tried filing a complaint with the FCC? Service providers are required to respond directly to those complaints. Small claims court may be overkill at this point, not to mention you will incur additional expenses to do that. I'd go the FCC route first if you haven't already.

Personally, I wouldn't do a promo phone purchase deal from them. That's not their strength at all. Bring your own device and you are fine. Obviously all your issues are primarily from the phone purchase as far as your post goes. So best to use the service on a BYOD set up. All pay up front stuff, never trust these 'bill credit' deals, being locked in for 12 or 24 months. Lots of horror stories on many carriers, not just RP.

I've used Red Pocket for years with my own phones, always had good reception and service in my area. Only time I've done 'free phone' deals are with Tracfone and MetroPCS deals, all android- Motorola and never had an issue with set up, unlocking after the waiting period, etc.

I swear I saw that on prepaidcompare and it was an add-on, not a stand alone plan?

Redpocket or MobileX for cheap plans. Was with redpocket but swapped to mobilex - however, mobilex is in an acquisition, so I likely will be switching back to redpocket if the new owners do anything about pricing smh

The 20G for $180 seems decent too, will this get better during the holiday season usually?

I just tried. You can't get the kids plan unless you have an active regular/adult plan.

The Red Pocket Essentials Plan, complimentary international roaming includes a dedicated monthly travel allowance for supported destinations:
  • 1 GB roaming data
  • 100 roaming voice minutes
  • 100 roaming text messages (SMS)
Where You Can Use It
  • Included Destinations (60+ countries): Most notably Canada and Mexico, as well as over 60 other destinations across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania (such as the UK, Australia, Japan, Germany, France, and Brazil).
  • Extended Destinations (140+ countries): Available by purchasing paid roaming credit add-ons ($10, $25, or $50) in your account if traveling outside the primary 60+ countries or if you exceed your monthly 1 GB cap.
Crucial Setup Requirements
  • GSMA Network Only: Free international roaming is exclusive to Red Pocket's GSMA network (AT&T-based SIMs/eSIMs). It is not supported on GSMT (T-Mobile) or CDMA (Verizon) network lines.
  • Must Activate Before Leaving the U.S.: You must log into your Red Pocket account ([redpocket.com/my-lines](https://redpocket.com/my-lines)), navigate to the Roaming tab, and select your destination country while still connected to the U.S. network. Roaming cannot be enabled once you arrive abroad.
  • Turn On Device Roaming: Once abroad, ensure Data Roaming is toggled ON in your phone's cellular/mobile network settings.
