This doesn't make any sense to buy for this price in 2026 unless you are a Regatta Captain. The Fenix 9/Pro just came out and this is basically a Garmin Epix Gen 2 (non-pro) device from 2022 in a fancy case. Functionality wise this is inferior to the Epix Pro Gen 2 which keeps popping up here around $500, let alone the Fenix 8 AMOLED which is available for the same price (from Garmin who makes it easy to use FSA/HSA pre-tax money).

Garmin went too far with their mediocre value and insane prices aaaand... hit a wall. I used their Fenix watches for triathlon for almost 10 years, the price ceiling based on value and electronics inside is $500 and that should be a sapphire version. Good smartphones are sold for 700 on sale.
