Are these speakers shite? It seems like a new "deal" everyday.

Thumbs down and no answers? That's productive.

SD keeps throwing these "Energy" speakers at us almost every single day... It'd be good to hear a review from someone who bought these recently.

Go read the comments of the other energy speakers that have been posted on here. Amazon has really good reviews on them.

I bought the CF-50s probably 10+ years ago at Best Buy during a Black Friday sale for $200 a pop. Regular price was around $400 each. They were amazing speakers back then, and I'm sure they still sound great today.
What I can't figure out is the rest of the story. I didn't even know Energy was still in business, I have no idea who the hell owns the brand today, and somehow Adorama seems to be the only place selling these.

I have had great results buying from Adorama. I have never returned anything so I can't comment on that. But I am happy with the speakers and onkyo rz-50 and a Revolt 3 computer case recently.

If you need one now, you have no brand preference & budget conscious.
You might take a look at the popular RSL10e for $339.

If you're looking for more budget friendly with good performance the Energy C10 sub was just $190, likely pop up again.

You can also look at Dayton 1200 for around $239.

These were released after the RC-70s but are a step down from them.

I had these about 14-15 years ago when they went on sale on Newegg.

For 300 dollars, let's not expect these to perform like their Revel Salons. With that in mind you will be happy with the performance assuming the internals are all the same as it was all those years ago.

Who knows what are inside them now.

Thanks for the advice, but I need to get it from Adorama; I have store credit there. And I already have an RSL 12s.

Are you upgrading or adding? Next step up from the RSL would probably be an SVS 2000 series. If you are adding a second subwoofer, you would want another RSL 12s (which is already a great home theater sub!)

In 2006, Klipsch Group acquired Energy (alongside sister brands Mirage and Athena) from API.

Ahh, I just picked up the pair of CF50. I wish I'd known the CF70 would have a deal.

Klipsch acquired them 20 years ago so these are already post that. I still own their C7 from before that when they were API in Canada.

I'd like to add I gather Adorama sometimes has sales on the Klipsch RP-1400. would that be a good match?
