Bought this pack about a year ago and I'd be cautious. Two issues:
1) the battery life isn't what I hoped for - I have to charge the batteries once or twice every week brushing twice a day. The battery has run out while away on work trips. Furthermore it takes longer to charge than I would have imagined.
2) there is a real problem with bacteria build up underneath brush heads and where the head connects to the toothbrush. It gets very nasty and not hygienic. Google it!

Any idea if the battery life is better on the series 6 or 7?

Series 7 and up has the fast charging under 3 hours. Supposedly battery life is 14 days, I've gone multiple weeks without charging my iO7. My iO7 also has a screen that tells you the battery life. For the bacteria build up/general cleaning I always use an ultrasonic cleaner and it easily manages cleaning.

Longer, indeed. The Series 5 charges in 16 hours, far more than Series 7 and higher which charge in 3 hours. At the point where base meets brush head, toothpaste and gunk do accumulate and need to be cleared fairly frequently. A really good rinsing does not fully prevent the buildup.

Any thoughts on Oral-B iO Series 5 vs Sonicare 6400?
I'm comparing this deal vs Sonicare 6400 for $29.96 on kohls.
Sonicare 6400 will be $60 for 2
Costco pack Includes 2 Handles, 4 Brush Heads, 2 Charging Stations. So there are 2 additional heads.
So the price difference is not a whole lot, but Sonicare is slightly better priced even if we include the cost of extra heads.
