Considering Hokas for my older teenage son. Could anyone chime in on whether they have found these are comfortable to walk and/or run in?

I don't own this specific pair, but breathability is as good as non-existent with any shoes that use Gore-Tex. Be prepared for hot and sweaty feet when using these in anything but freezing weather.

I've owned 3 pair of Hoka's so far. Currently have the Transport 2 (non-GORE-TEX version) and the Arahi 8. I wanted the GTX version but they don't sell them in wide size at Dick's. Hoka's run quite narrow.

These Transport series are really comfortable but are mainly designed for walking and general lifestyle. They aren't a true running shoe.

I also need a wide in Hokas. These seemed to be more narrow than their other shoes.

I went through a pair of altra lone peak 9's in a month or so... let's see if these last. In the past year, I've worn through 5 pairs of shoes and I was unable to walk/run for 5-8 weeks of the year. Shoes are so disposable now.

I had a very serious condition of Fascitus and bought several Hoka's--cleared it up within a few weeks; I now have 6 pairs (mostly Cliffords) that I wear to run/walk; I can also wear other brands without the pain I used to have

Currently own a transport shoes and they super comfortable I would buy it in a fly but unfortunately the ones I bought last time was for around $65 so probably would wait for price to drop even further
