i'm wondering if this is good overall, compared to prices before the tarrifs. Instead of looking at how much is saved from the current $1999 price, i think they were being sold for this price or a hundred ore regularly before? wasn't the low around $1100-1200 for new? price history on amazon shows it was around $1424 in the past year.

I can confirm pre covid, I secured them on Amazon for $900. Never came close to that since. I'm addicted to these headphones - basically collect them with how many purchases I've made. This is essentially the best I've seen in the last year personally.

If you're interested, not a bad time to pull the trigger.

you mean you saw them brand new for $900 and they were not the hd8xx from Drop? they were brand new HD800s?

I got 11 others in similar price range and this is the one I use the most. It is so clean and spacious. My friends who try them are all amazed with how music sounds from these headphones.

Well I have HD 800 from the 2016 focuscamera.com deal for $899 and they are a favorite both sound and comfort. That said my Grado Hemp's get the most play time for 1/3 the cost of an S model.

For brand new in the past few years this is the best price I've seen it at, period. Pre covid and all that was a different world so not really relevant IMO.
