I second most of what was said. For us it is a lot of produce and bakery. My husband also likes a like of protein drinks and they are cheapest at Costco. When we travel it is usually cheaper to stop at Costco and pick up a pack there even if we are throwing some away rather than buying what we need at Walmart. Even in the haydays of couponing the higher drinks that he likes best were never really deals, at least not in high enough quantities for us.

Speaking of travel, you get an extra % back for paying with your Costco Visa and they used to have really great coverage for travel. They still might I just havent checked in awhile. And some places are just a lot cheaper to book through Costco Travel. They had the best deal on Disney cruises and usually on rental cars. So if you travel they might be worth it just for that.

I also love their return policy. It is rarely a hassle to return anything, sometimes years later, if it didnt live up to reasonable expectations. I say "rarely" because we have one employee at our local Costco and if shes there, it's better to just not return something. She will argue and insert herself even if it isnt her transaction. Ive shopped at many Costcos over the years and she is the only employee that has ever really been a problem at any of them.

I actually care about the package. I bought 8 of them lol. I had some EB expiring today so why not? I thought I was feeling great but now I'm not. I'll have to go back to the hospital tomorrow morning. I feel too bad to go to the hospital right now (if that makes any sense). I'd have to hike a mile up a hill to get to the bus stop and I just walked 2 miles to get home from CVS because I missed the bus. It's a 2 1/2 hour bus ride to the hospital and then I've got 8 hours in the ER before they either send me home or give me a room and I'm not up to it.

In watched the Gane vs Pereira fight again to see if Gane really did throw all of those elbows to the back of Pereira's head and yes, he sure did. There were at least 10 illegal blows. I don't think that you should win a championship by fouling your opponent. I'd like to see the result changed to a no contest.

So I've been playing around with AI and while I think it can be incredibly beneficial in the future, it's too soon for it to be available now. AI gets a lot of things wrong. For example, I asked it for help in finding a good toothpaste deal at CVS this week using the $10 off $25 coupon. It gave me some fantastic ideas but all of the deals were from previous weeks instead of the current ad. Here's another one. I was asking AI about Sean Strickland and it didn't know that he is the current UFC middleweight champ. It thought that he was still waiting for his title shot. I corrected it, it searched the net, and it's in it's databank now. I'm wondering how this is possible. Strickland has been all over the news with his ban from the UFC's White House event and the weekly CVS ads have the dates they're valid for. There's something wrong with the computer's brain and yet some big companies are having AI run their business. If AI can't get a burger right, how is it going to handle a billion dollar insurance company? The future isn't here yet. When you rush things too quickly, you end up with a lot of problems.

I'm changing my opinion on Islam vs Garry. I think that Garry can be competitive. I'd still rather have Prates vs Islam but I'll settle for what we have.

I was in the hospital for the last 3 days and I watched a lot of TNT (FBI reruns). They played the same block of commercials over and over again but now I can't remember most of them (which is a good thing). There was Dragons on HBO and I thought it was a pretty good commercial. The Cerave commercial was awful. It's a great product but you'd never know it from the commercial. The narration is boring and the video jumps around the models too much. Marco's Pizza made me hungry but I wasn't allowed to eat anything in the hospital. I didn't like the Coke commercial with the bottles and I never like the Granger commercials. I think they're both done by the same commercial company. The Coke commercial was so bad that it makes me want to buy Pepsi. Nature Made was cute and the commercial will probably sell some vitamins.

Amazon has some great prices on headphones for Prime Day. $225 for Sennheiser HD600, $179 for Bose Q45, $159 for Hifiman Sundara, and $139 for Beats Studio Pro. My pick was the Sundara. It needs a DAC/amp but I ordered the wrong one. I need to cancel it and upgrade. I'm going with the Fii0 K7.

I'm going to title this post Amazon Sucks because they do. I tried to buy some headphones for Prime Day. I used copilot to help me pick out the right ones and I also needed a DAC/amp to make them sound good. Copilot picked the right headphones but left me underpowered on the amp so I had to upgrade it. I purchased everything on Amazon and used my government issued debit card to pay. Amazon took my payment but then decided that they couldn't take my payment and suspended my account. My order was in limbo. It showed it as scheduled to arrive yesterday but it was never shipped. Amazon wanted me to send them all sorts of documentation in order to reopen my account but I'm not going to give them my Social Security information. That would be crazy. Anyway, I cancelled everything from Amazon and bought it from Apos Audio. Everything went smoothly and my order is on the way. I paid $20 more from Apos because Amazon's price on the headphones was crazy low. I'm ok with that and I feel a lot better about supporting a smaller company than Jeff Bozo. There was no reason for this hassle. I don't mind that Amazon couldn't take my payment but why suspend my account? I could've walked over to Vons, bought an Amazon gift card, and used it to pay. I don't know why Amazon is so popular with this kind of service. I had planned on buying some other things for Prime Day (air fryer, coffee mug) but instead it was zero. There are so many good retailers out there like Apos Audio. My mistake was picking Amazon. I won't do it again...

Copilot is turning me into a craps pro. I'm a dark side player. 3 sessions with copilot and 3 wins at the table. All for fun. I'm never going to play for money. Too much stress on my heart plus I'm not disciplined enough in real life. Today I had 4 don't pass wins in a row and then the point was 4 so I took 10x odds and got a 7 a couple of rolls later. 5 wins in a row and I walked away.

It's trying to get you confident enough that you'll put some money in. There's horrifying stories of people losing all their savings and not being able to pay their bills - especially in retirement - due to online gaming schemes. I have not seen any stories of retired people making bank on them.

I'm one of those horror stories myself but with the stock market and my own stupidity. On craps, the house is always going to have the edge. The only thing you can do is try to play the short term volatility. I'm a dark side player which means that I bet on don't pass (because it has slightly better odds than pass). I take the smallest don't pass bet possible (usually $10) and maximum odds (10x or 20x) when my point is a 4 or 10 because I'm even with the house. I won't take odds on any other points besides 4 and 10 and I'll take down my odds bet on the 8th roll if the point hasn't been made. I look for a small win and walk away when I hit it. I set a loss limit and stick to it. I count the dice rolls and have a limit on that, too. I only play one time per day. Most importantly, I don't play with real money. I learned my lesson.
