Aw thanks! We actually ended up having quite a lovely day. We facetimed opening presents with the kids, which was surprisingly quite fun. I tried a new recipe for pork tenderloin in the air fryer, which was quick and easy and even better it was delish. I love family history and worked on unraveling some DNA matches this afternoon. The day has gone by quite fast.

It definitely sounds like my today was far better than some of yours, and it definitely was better than my worst Christmas. Happy Holidays right back at you!

It was definitely better than my day. I'm glad that you had a great Christmas meal and fun tracing your family tree with your kids. That's how Christmas should be but sometimes it doesn't work out. Even Babe Ruth would strike out with the bases loaded and the game on the line. I know this because I just saw an old movie about him on tv lol.

I wanted to get some Hershey mini-bars at Vons this morning but even with the 50% off they're still $4. Chocolate has really gone up. There's no sense in waiting for 75% off because they'll be long gone by then. I decided to pass. I didn't want it that much and $4 is too much to pay. That's the story with most things these days.

We have cut WAY back on buying chocolate this year. I lucked into some really good chocolate melts at Michaels this fall. They were 90% off and they don't expire until 2027. I was only going to buy a couple of bags because I thought they were 75% off. When they rang up 90% off, I went back and bought all I could find. LOL

I miss the old days when it was so much fun to shop at CVS. Now it's not even worth going. It's been 2 months since I've been to a drugstore except for my meds and I'm so much better off for it. I've only been to Michael's once and they were so busy. I couldn't believe it. I was looking for a pencil holder to put my coupons in. Hobby Lobby is the place to go to for that but good luck in finding where they are lol.

I refuse to shop at Hobby Lobby.

I have no ecbs, but have some WG cash available right now. It definitely did used to be fun, but I actually love being 'free' these days.

What's the problem with Hobby Lobby? I've only been there one time for the pencil bags. Somebody at another store told me to go there. They are way cheaper than any other place I've ever found them at.

I'm currently watching Wentworth on Tubi. It's brilliant.

Hobby Lobby is anti LGBTQ+ and also fought to not have to pay for women's contraceptives back when the Affordable Care Act came out. I try not to support businesses who discriminate like that. It's why I also haven't been in Chick Fil A in at least 10 (15? 20?) years.

I don't understand why a business has to have a political position. Shouldn't it be about making money? Having said this, I would like to open a fast-food restaurant and call it Trump Burgers. Let's make fast food great again! lol

I looked online and somebody beat me to it. There's a Trump Burger in Texas that opened in 2020. Why is it Burger instead of Burgers? Does he only plan on selling one burger?

I do hear you. I have 15ecb on MIL's card expiring soon. I had a plan with her CRTs for Colgate OW & Neutrogena makeup. It would come to $15 and earn 16 ecb

but the Neutrogena $3dQ - which I loaded and is even listed in the ad - conveniently disappeared yesterday.
I've had to wrack my brain, comparing current & upcoming ad to spend ALL $22ecb on her card to do 10/30P&G deal and would still end up with some stuff I didn't really want.

On my card, I did the subscription thing for $24. Getting $10/mo = $120/year seemed decent. I'd LIKE to roll my $10 into something - even if it earns back less than $10 so that next period I'll have $15-$16 and more options. But it's not looking good for anything I can use.

It's going to be tough without kicking in cash. I got CVS GC that earned that 15ecb but since our tax is 9.25%, I'll be hard pressed to make it last a year just using it for tax.

It certainly takes away from anything remotely fun & adds more stress & annoyance than this might be worth.

I admire your stance on Hobby Lobby & Chik filA. I'd never seen either around here but the nearest commercial place to my house, about 1mi away, recently added Chik FilA. I've never been, they opened Nation's Burger since then, which I think is a local chain, reviews well but we can't quite get ourselves to go into the area.

If the menu pages are anything like the files being released, the page would be all black, lol. Totally ridiculous imo.

On a different note, we're getting ready for some snow here. Dense fog today, five inches of snow and maybe ice tomorrow, and then below zero temps on Monday. Yikes! I'm thinking of making some soup to keep warm.

I also stay away from these two places. Never patronized either even though hubby gets things at Hobby Lobby. I figure there are other businesses I can get whatever it is I need.

i went to gertrude hawk yesterday morning to try to score some leftover christmas chocolate that is 50% off. there was very little left, they must've started the clearance before christmas.
on top of that, i was supposed to have $10 in my rewards account.
the cashier told me she could not find my account by phone number, name, or email address.
