Got the one with the adjustable height for a few hundred more last year. If you do video or graphic work, then you really don't need those Spyder color calibration contraptions that you put on your monitor similar to some alien creature sucking on your face. Out of box, the color is near perfect.
All monitors need calibration after some time.

$1300 has been the "sale price" on/off for many years now. Horrible buy in 2025 and I love Apple products

CPU is pretty old A13 from 2019… that's the only concern I have.

Yes it does, but some things like center stage don't.

Remember when this was unveiled (alongside its price) at that Apple event so many years ago and the crowd literally went silent? No cheering, no ooohs and ahhhs like they would at every other reveal. Just confusion. They had to be convinced by their Apple overlords that a 27" $1600 with no VESA mount was what they really wanted.

For those commenting on price:

The cheapest comparable monitor is the new ASUS 27" 5k and while it compares well, most reviewers agree the Studio display is better. Benq just announced a new offering at $1200 available for preorder and Viewsonic has one coming out as well, but no pricing yet.
Samsung has an option that can be had for under 700 on sale, but it's not in the same league.

There are some more 32" 6k options that have been announced, but currently the Dell at $2300 is the cheapest.

If you want a high PPI monitor there are few options and the studio display is one of the best and this is a good price for the studio display.

And why would an old cpu be a problem for a monitor. Pretty sure the A13 is more powerful than most modern TVs.

Surprising we haven't see a more mass consumer offering from Apple yet. Take the screen from the iMac and sell it for $500 for the masses. We don't all need $1300 screens with our $500 Mac Minis yet some would like to stay in the Apple Ecosystem.

Depends what you do with it. If watching movies then sure OLED is amazing if doing some office work it is actually worse for most people as it displays text in a strange way. Idk about photo/video editing which this is really designed for. If you want you can get OLED monitors these days often for much less than this and they would perform for most people significantly better. But it is not true that OLED universally beats a top of the line IPS.

$1,300 on "SALE" for a 27" monitor is preposterous!! Even if it was 32" it would still be a ridiculous price!
Dell makes a fairly similar pro grade 32" @ $2300... you were saying?

Anyway to get this price directly from Apple? I have Apple credit that I would like to spend.
