There is also an even bigger difference between Corning ware bakeware and the original. The original was a pyroceramic that was nearly impervious to heat shock. I believe they used it in ballistic middle nose cones lol. There are vintage videos showing them freezing it in a block of ice and then hitting it with a blow torch…taking it out of the stove and right into the freezer, or out of the freezer and directly onto the hot stove top…as in the heating element when on lol. It was incredible stuff. You can still buy it, at 4-5x the cost of the crap clay bakeware they stamp with Corning ware now.
I'm sick of prices up, quality down, profits up, consumers lied to and censored when they cry out.

Soda lime is mechanically stronger, so it's not bad for storage containers, but terrible for bakeware.

I've bough from several different "brands." All appear identical, the lids are interchangeable, and the lids have held up better in the dish washer than any of the typical name brands in the tupperware sector.
I use them for my meal prep lunches every day.
They've handled baking mini casseroles, shepherds pies or lasagnas just fine, even when I've gone straight from the refrigerator to the oven. Soda lime glass containers would have shattered.
They also chip rather than shatter if you happen to drop one, further proof they are most likely borosilicate, rather than tempered soda lime glass. Tempered glass does not typically chip, instead if it cracks at all, it will entirely shatter due to the release of internal stress. Granted, the threshold to chip borosilicate is lower than to shatter tempered glass.
