No, not from Trinidad. From Punjab, India. Hot buttered Roti/Chapathi/Phulka is the main staple for daily meals to scoop up the main dishes. Home cooking is similar to but not as rich/fattening as restaurant Indian food, we don't eat naan daily - that is usually a special occasion bread. Basically this is what they are, only I only use flour and water, no fats. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recip...s-chapatis. I know that the word Roti means soooo many different things around the world, sometimes a similar food but many times an entirely different food. Smilie

People aren't aware of the change. It's actually spelled the same but with different capitalization so the logo is technically different.

There is also an even bigger difference between Corning ware bakeware and the original. The original was a pyroceramic that was nearly impervious to heat shock. I believe they used it in ballistic middle nose cones lol. There are vintage videos showing them freezing it in a block of ice and then hitting it with a blow torch…taking it out of the stove and right into the freezer, or out of the freezer and directly onto the hot stove top…as in the heating element when on lol. It was incredible stuff. You can still buy it, at 4-5x the cost of the crap clay bakeware they stamp with Corning ware now.

I'm sick of prices up, quality down, profits up, consumers lied to and censored when they cry out.

I love these over Pyrex to store cookie dough and dough for making roti (chapathi). Dough stays fresher longer. Also love that it is just 2 handle locks. Easy to use. Thanks.

This is the first time I've seen the smaller 1.3 cup brilliance containers in glass on sale.

Absolutely love the glass sets since you can cook/reheat without worry.

In the US,during shelter in place when I couldn't get the chapathi flour from an Indian store, the closest equivalent is Bob's Red Mill stone ground, another recipe, again I don't use salt, just flour and water, and after making them you butter them. Basically in a pyrex since the lid is not truly airtight, the fresh dough lasts 2 days before you start to see discolaration. much like when the fresh pizza dough balls at Trader Joe's get old. With these containers on the 3rd day the dough is as fresh as the first day so that is amazing.

It's nice that these can go in the oven. I use the 8 cup one for casseroles. Then after dinner, I just put the lid on and pop it in the fridge.
