What would the point of 4000A peak current be? It's well beyond what might be useful to jump start an automobile?

"The peak amp figure printed on a jump starter's box is often the least useful number for deciding whether it can actually start your car. It measures a maximum current burst lasting a fraction of a second, not the sustained current a battery needs to crank an engine. What actually determines whether a jump starter is sized correctly is closer to Cold Cranking Amps and the engine's displacement, not the biggest number on the packaging."

This one has a 800amp (3 secs), then 500 amp (5 secs).

Thanks for your post. When shopping for a good jump starter, where are those numbers found and how are they calculated? How can a shopper compare one from another from product listings or other sources to see which is the best choice? Thanks.

By watching review videos rather than relying on potentially BS figures posted by manufacturers.
Project Farm does a good video on these jump starters

Should I return the one they had the other day for $70 which is this model minus the extra features? All I care about is a jump starter

What is the difference between this model (with the "Plus" designation) and the regular GP4000?

What is the difference between this model (with the "Plus" designation) and the regular GP4000?
AI says the following but don't know if it's accurate because the Plus model in this deal does not seem to have a digital screen on it:

Both the GOOLOO GP4000 and the GOOLOO GP4000 Plus (often listed as the
"Upgraded" GP4000) are heavy-duty, high-capacity jump starters capable of
starting almost any consumer vehicle on the road.

Because they share the same core power specs, the differences come down to user
interface, convenience features, and the jumper cables.

Here is the breakdown of the differences between the two models:

1. Battery Level Display (The Biggest Difference)

- GP4000 (Standard): Uses a basic LED indicator system. It has 4 small blue
lights to tell you the battery level (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%). You have to
guess exactly how much juice is left.
- GP4000 Plus: Features a digital LCD screen on the front of the unit. This
screen gives you an exact numerical readout of your battery percentage
(e.g., 87%), making it much easier to know when it is time to recharge the
unit.

2. The Smart Jumper Clamps

- GP4000 (Standard): Comes with standard smart clamps. The box on the cables
uses simple Red and Green LED lights to let you know if the connection is
correct and ready to jump.
- GP4000 Plus: Comes with upgraded Smart Clamps with a built-in screen. When
you connect these clamps to your car battery, the little screen on the cable
box will actually display your car battery's current voltage. It will also
display specific error codes (like "ERR" for reverse polarity) instead of
just flashing lights.

3. Charging Speeds (Depending on generation)

- GP4000 (Standard): Features a standard USB-C in/out port (usually 15W). It
takes quite a few hours to recharge the massive battery from 0 to 100%.
- GP4000 Plus: Many of the "Plus" or upgraded versions feature improved USB-C
Power Delivery (PD) fast-charging capabilities, allowing the unit to
recharge significantly faster if you use a high-wattage wall adapter.

What stays exactly the SAME?

- Peak Current: Both push out a massive 4000 Amps of peak power.
- Engine Capacity: Both will jump-start up to a 10.0L Gas or 10.0L Diesel
engine. They will easily start standard cars, heavy-duty trucks, RVs, and
tractors.
- Battery Capacity: Both house a massive ~26,800mAh (99Wh) battery, meaning
you can jump-start a car dozens of times on a single charge.
- Extra Features: Both include an ultra-bright LED flashlight, dual USB-A
ports to charge your phone/tablet, and a 15V DC output port to power things
like 12V air compressors or car vacuums.

Summary Verdict: Which should you buy?

If they are close in price, buy the GP4000 Plus. The digital LCD screen takes
the guesswork out of knowing how much battery you have left, and the voltage
reader on the jumper cables is an excellent diagnostic tool to figure out if
your car battery is truly dead or if you have another mechanical issue.

However, if the standard GP4000 is on a steep discount, it provides the exact
same jumping power and reliability, just with fewer "bells and whistles."

(Note: If you are looking for an even bigger upgrade, look at the GOOLOO GT4000.
That is GOOLOO's completely redesigned next-generation model that includes a
massive 3.2-inch screen, 100W ultra-fast charging, and special pre-heating
technology for extreme winter weather).
