I've never owned a Vizio set before; so I can't speak to that experience. Used to like Roku a lot - has it gotten that bad? We've been using an Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen for a while.

I put roku away 10yrs ago.. I bought a 50 inch vizzeo from Tar-regret about 2 or 3 yrs ago and I hate it.. I use a fire cube on top of the vizz os but that darn tv has issues when I am on the cube youtube. It looses sync and I have to cycle through the vizz os to get the thing to resync. If my cube goes to sleep, if switches to vizz home page and that means comercial and or music.. ARG..

ONN boxes are fine. I have a 7yr old ONN (non smart) TV and those are fine. It is just the OS in these smart sets that IRKS me.. Just save the smart OS and give me a straight tv.

I am sure you would not trade the Apple tv os for any of these two os's.. I have a AppleTV box I picked up at GW new in the box.. I was gonna hook it up at some point, but I guess I am lazy and I really want two remotes before I set it up.

Oh wow, so it's not just limited to the Vizio smart app functionality in particular, but quirks with the entire OS. I hope it's not too common an issue for everyone (or with this particular Onn model). Thanks for the info / feedback, repoed 👍

From everything i've been reading about the new Onn powered by Vizio TVs, you need to sign into a walmart account to access the smart features. Makes me want to search out an older model still in stock.
