That's wild. My iPad 4 is still on iOS 26.5 and the OS uses 18 gb. I don't store anything on mine, it's just a media consumption and web surfing device, but that's wild.

64GB in 2026 should be illegal. iPadOS system files and 'System Data' take up ~20GB out of the box, leaving you enough room for Genshin Impact, two movies, and a high-five.

This will run fine as a daily tablet with the M1. Games, streaming, web browsing. The M1 is a great processor. If you're doing more than that pay up

Technically this existed in 2022, so it's 4 years old. 😂The newest iPads start at 128 GB's.My iPad Pro is using 27 GB's for the OS and 21 GB's for System Data. I agree 64 GB's isn't enough, but 4 years ago it wasn't as bad. If you disable Apple Intelligence you'll gain some space back.

I am typing this comment on this exact iPad. 64gb is absolutely too small. I can confirm that the OS is taking roughly 40gb of the space and leaves me very very little for the minimal software on my iPad. I have one and a half pages of apps, most just what comes on it. No photos, no messaging, no email. I'm using 61.1gb of my 64gb. Cannot even upgrade os without offloading apps to do the upgrades. Time to get a new one,this one lives its life mostly as a second screen for my laptop and it works great for that.

So-called simple apps are 300-500mb now, so this will run out of space super quickly for most people.

I think 64GB is fine if all you do is streaming services and web surfing.
