I have owned one of these for several years and I use it regularly (I do buy used records as well as new). In my experience, it does clean the record better than using just a rag. I highly recommend this as an easy and safe way to remove dust & oils from records. I am also a fan of using a microfiber cloth and have never used alcohol to clean my vinyl.
