The Snapdragon 8 gen 2 CPU is probably the largest jump from the RP5. For retro emulation, they are basically the same up to Dreamcast, N64, PS1 and PSP level. At PS2, GC, Wii and Switch, you can get better resolution, and smoother frame rates. The RP5 struggles just a little with the most demanding games at the PS2/GC level, and the RP6 handles them all well. Switch emulation is much better suited to the RP6 as is PC gaming via Winlator, Gamehub, Gamenative, etc.

Love my retroid flip 2, which has identical internals, but for the same price point an Odin would probably be a better "handheld power per dollar spent" value!

That being said id recommend the clamshell retroid flip 2. I pocket it and carry it everywhere with me. Steam play from home.. ive been enjoying my second dave the diver playthrough on it.
