As with every time, the only people to blame is the one's buying them...hence keeping companies playing games thru indirect positive reinforcement.

You want to be in a job where it makes money regardless. Government, taxation.
If all fast food places gave deals all the time or kept prices low according to what a few customers wanted, you would get your cheap price, but employment is at stake and the businesses would go under more quickly.
If you could pay $0 for food, would you?
Fast food, in American history, filled a niche at a time where both genders started working outside the house and very little time was given to cooking food. Still, people who find the time to cook are the fast food industry's worst enemies. Even then, you would have the same issue at grocery stores. They are putting out deals to get you as a customer over their competitors (because you still need to buy their product) and any $ in is better than nothing for the time being, not because they are trying to please their customer base.

When California raised their minimum wage to $20, that's what put employment at stake. What use to be 3 to 6 order takers is now 4 kiosks. They simply can't afford to pay employees $20, keep prices reasonable, and make a profit.
If a business is not paying health insurance and any other benefits, for the time a worker is working part time, the wage should be high.
In business, there is no such thing as "keep prices reasonable," to what standard?
The CEO wants to see a 5% growth projection per year or else shareholders will have an issue!
