I happened to be in the market for frying pans. My mismatched set of old frying pans were beginning to show their age ... losing some of their non-stickiness, scratched, and warped. Unfortunately, I had just purchased a couple of new Tramontina frying pans, so I couldn't take advantage of this particular deal. I posted this for the sake of others who might be interested in a new set.

Thanks goes to member CTRL-ALT-DEALS for originally posting this on the previous Yonida 12-inch frying pan deal. Also, you might want to read up on the comments on that deal for a rundown of the pluses and minuses of this particular brand of frying pan. (In a nutshell: this is a reasonably good quality pan for the price, but not perfect and certainly not a lifetime purchase. It will probably serve your needs for 2 to 5 years, depending on how well you maintain it.)

Greenpan uses ceramic nonstick surface. The Yonida uses a hybrid (etched) surface. They perform quite differently.

Not sure how the ceramic works, but typically the non stick surfaces do not transmit the heat in a way that allows quality searing. Where as the hybrid design has the nominal steel surfaces for searing and the non stick surfaces to prevent sticking. I love these hybrids.

FYI the screw-in parts for the bolts that go on the handles are poorly weld onto the pan. If you tighten the bold too much, you will break the weld.
