Don't trust Amazon reviews on this. Check this collar out on Tractor Supply and you'll see multiple reviews saying that the male part of the buckle is a point of failure. If you look closer at the picture showing the buckle, the male part is plastic while the female part is alloy. If you use a harness then this isn't as much of an issue but still something to consider. Also this material collects dog hair like crazy (and what dog doesn't shed?).

A duck dog is a dog that retrieves ducks, primarily utilized for duck hunting. They are typically Labrador retrievers. I highly recommend them, so yes, you want one.

These are fleece collars. Not intended for your dogs to wear all the time. This is going to catch and hold moisture, skin oils, dirt, etc.
