Sennheiser is currently out of biz and looking for a buyer.
You might be sorry when you need replacement parts on those 6 headphones.
Not sure about the 800s but most of Sennheiser product line seems pretty solid. Lots of aftermarket support since they're so ubiquitous.
Side note.
This user has personal feelings about people buying subjective products for their own use. They're not serious. Seems to comment an awful lot about headphones at price points they hate to shame people for their purchases or incapable of understanding that people have different hearing, tastes, and income levels etc.

The owner of Sennheiser consumer headphones, Sonova, has decided to exit the consumer audio business and is selling the unit that it purchased. Sennheiser is very much a going concern. The professional and consumer business units split in 2022 when Sonova purchased the consumer unit

I just hope someone buys it who loves audio, and not just some investment group looking to sell off the name to put on Chinese headphones.

Thank you for posting this. Saved me the time and effort of typing it all out.

My apologies if you thought I was serious. I was mocking people who think spending this kind of money on headphones is in any way reasonable. They are suckers who have been successfully convinced their ears are somehow special.
Definitely agree with you. Are they better and more accurate? Yes, they are. Can you get 95 percent of the way there for 25 percent of the cost? Yes, you can.
Diminishing returns is present more with audio gear than nearly anything else.
I'll stop here before I start ranting about the shills for various brands on YouTube.
Don't expect this to be your endgame setup if you aren't willing to drop another grand or two on a dedicated amp. Some people think they can just plug it into their gaming PC and expect it to sound great. Sure, it sounds better than basic headphones, but it's not exactly hitting its full potential.

I have the 800s plugged into my 1998 Aiwa cassette player. Seems to work just fine for me. 🤷
