That would be from witch hazel that blooms in the fall, which is the most common witch hazel. Witch hazel that blooms in winter/spring isnt as potent, which in my area is called the Ozark witch hazel. (I have both that grow naturally at my lake house) But on the upside, that means they dont put additives in this version. Either one, the smell should go away once it dries up.
