There are dozens for about the same price if you search for "automotive smoke machine", one even as low as $28.49 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D9B4CZPT. There are various features: with or without air pump, adjustable psi pump, how long it takes to heat up 10-30s, oil tank size, what adaptors are included etc. This one seems like a mid-tier machine and doesn't come with an adjustable psi pump or a pressure gauge. If you want adjustable pump then $16 more gets you this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DNS49MKY.

TLDR seems like normal price to me considering the features offered

I made my own ghetto smoke machine when I was trying to find an evap system leak on my rust bucket 2001 Nissan Maxima. I wish I had one of these handy at the time. But that was over 10 years ago and I have not needed one since. I can't imagine buying one and having sit around until I need it again.

And the hyperbole in the descriptions these days is gobsmaking: "Weighing only 4.4lb, the Solary automotive smoke machine is compact, easy to store, and transport, making it an essential tool for every car owner". What a bunch of BS.

Bottom like, you don't need this unless you have an issue NOW.

That's not what these are designed to do. You can check for evap system leaks by connecting it to your gas tank and seeing where the smoke comes out or intake tract leaks by connecting it to your charge pipe, exhaust and PCV leaks. For AC leaks you need something like UV dye in your refrigerant.
