I just got my Costco annual renewal in the mail because I turned off auto renewal. It included the offer shown in the photo.
If you have a November renewal (or any future month) and haven't gotten it yet, turn off auto renewal now and see if you get it.
Fine print says "This promotion is only valid for the recipient of this renewal notice with a November 2026 renewal month. Promotion ends October 28, 2026. Enroll in auto renewal online or in person with any Visa credit/debit card. Access your Digital Costco Shop Card by creating a Costco.com account, verifying your membership and downloading the Costco app."

I've never seen a $40 perk to set up auto renewal for an existing membership.
