That would be a pretty significant upgrade then. Is your other hardware somewhat modern? I mean, if you put that in some computer with an 8700k you may notice some bottlenecks.

Still torn between this to upgrade a 6800 (non-XT). The 6800 has more RAM but is quite a bit older. 1440 max resolution.
9070 GRE is about 20% faster than the 6800 (non-XT) if you look at these two relative performance charts. If you have a good way to reuse/sell the 6800 for a decent ammount then its probably worth it. You can always lower some texture related settings to stay within the 12GB vram limit on the 9070 GRE but you can't really make the 6800 faster to make up that 20%. GPU prices are "supposed" to keep going up.
