Apparently "is sold on Amazon" qualifies something as a slickdeal these days.

Apparently, some people just like to post smack with no understanding of why this is a deal.

First off, $3997 price has only been in effect for a few months, now, with the 10% back ($400) on Prime Visa, makes your net cost $3598 which is the cheapest this set has ever been.

I'm not seeing the 10% cash back listed for the Prime Visa. Do you have a screenshot of it?

Just to clarify, you have to be a Prime Member and have Prime Visa to get 10% back. here's the screenshot.

Thanks for the clarification. I do not currently have a Prime Visa, so I didn't see the 10% cash back option now. Oddly enough, I swore I saw it pop up earlier when I first clicked the link today.

Seems like a great deal and enough to get me to pull the trigger!

During Prime Days, they will often offer a $200 AMZ Gift Card to get one. You should consider applying when that offer runs, Should see it soon, either during the October promotions or Black Friday.

Kinda off topic but hold till bf if possible. Consumer gonna be hit hard by gas prices so there won't be much demand for tv, gonna see some big discounts imo

I got the previous model 98 inch QM8K for $2999 in July 2025. Very happy with it.

This will definitely get cheaper by Black Friday, especially with the coming surge in living costs thanks to our tax money paying for shenanigans in the Middle East.

Yes, but will it be $3597 and no 10% back in Prime visa? I guess it's a question of just how mucher lower it will go from current to wait. if you're wanting this for Football season, it's mostly over by 12/1.

The QM9K is currently $2999 at Best Buy, but everything I'm reading puts the QM8L ahead except for dimming zones and peak brightness. The improvement over the 8L is apparently marginal for the majority of setups. Given the year newer, better color rending, Dolby Vision 2 support, better processor, etc., the QM8L appears to be the better buy at $600 more.

Bro.. if the QM9K 98 inch is $2999, I would lock it in now!

Based on what I've seen, the QM8L is only a minor upgrade from the QM8K:
2 more HDMI 2.1 ports, and a marginal improvement to brightness and color gamut - indistinguishable in daily use for the most part.

The QM9K is in a different league. Lock that bad boy in, and congrats on getting a flagship TV for a upper mid range sale price.

Last year the QM8K 98 inch was available for $2999 on a regular basis from July through the end of year, with occasional clearance down to ~$2500. The 98 QM8L might be $3k next month for Prime Days, if history repeats.

IMO this $3k 98 QM9K is the Real Slickdeal, worthy of its own post, if you are so inclined:

This is too big for most people's homes. Remember 4K is good, but if you sit too close and the TV is too big for your room, you will see the pixels.
