First off, $3997 price has only been in effect for a few months, now, with the 10% back ($400) on Prime Visa, makes your net cost $3598 which is the cheapest this set has ever been.

This will definitely get cheaper by Black Friday, especially with the coming surge in living costs thanks to our tax money paying for shenanigans in the Middle East.

Based on what I've seen, the QM8L is only a minor upgrade from the QM8K:
2 more HDMI 2.1 ports, and a marginal improvement to brightness and color gamut - indistinguishable in daily use for the most part.
The QM9K is in a different league. Lock that bad boy in, and congrats on getting a flagship TV for a upper mid range sale price.
IMO this $3k 98 QM9K is the Real Slickdeal, worthy of its own post, if you are so inclined:
