This is why I never part with any storage I've used. Which ironically takes up a lot of shelf storage.

My pops puts a drill through storage that we are disposing of. Outside disposable microwave for 10 seconds doesn't hurt either (well it hurts the data). Don't need to be a hoarder.

I am a big proponent of lower cost alternatives but the truth is when it comes to memory-cards, ssds etc. you don't wanna take any chance if you are using it for something important. I learned this the hard way several times.
