I bought it back in March because I needed to wipe and test a group of 120+ 2.5" hard drives, and a few dozen sata ssds. I usually did this with a single SATA to USB adapter, but that group of drives became large enough over the past couple years that I was sitting on the group. When the price of used 500gb hard drives practically doubled this year, I decided it was time to get rid of them.
It took a solid day, but I worked through all the drives. I'd say this device more than doubled the speed I was able to wipe, test and zero out the drives. Well worth the $24 I paid.
I have never used the clone function, but it's a handy option if I ever need it. And yes, that beep when you first turn it on is obnoxious.

The beep doesn't happen often as I basically run everything 24/7, it can just catch you off guard the once a month it happens, and it makes me wonder why in the hell they thought that was necessary or a good idea.
