Without a subscription I can see photos of bird visits from the past 24 hours and I can watch the camera feed live and capture video and photos from the live stream.

I don't love the setup and the app. The instructions are not very helpful, so you kind of have to figure it out as you go and the assembly is kind of annoying. Lots of tight corners.
The AI identification is a cool feature, but also know that it (and the cloud storage) requires a paid subscription after the free trial. It still works great as a live-view camera without it, but it's something to keep in mind if you were buying it specifically for the "smart" ID features. That being said though, it's easy to screenshot and reverse image search to ID any birds you might not recognize. Overall, it's a fun gadget that the whole family has enjoyed watching!"

1. You / your recipient are sending footage to god-knows-where for god-knows-what. It'd be impractical to sift through bulk footage like this 5 years ago, but it's possible today, nevermind what's possible 5 years from now. You can point it at a forest or something.
2. Make sure your recipient (if any) is aware of ways to keep the squirrels away, if that bothers them. Staking a pole in the ground and dangling a slinky around it at least prevents the dumb ones from climbing. They grab a ring and their weight pulls them down.
I've bought 2 different ones with identical cameras in different style bird feeders and they've worked the same with the VicoHome app on iOS.
