We've only used this on hardwood and tile and it does good but the 2.0 battery that comes with it is not big enough.
We use an HO 6.0.
We don't have a Dyson so I can't really compare.

I have 2 if these and don't use it much. Too big and bulky. I also have both pack out types. I prefer the cheaper one. The more expensive one is quiet but suction seems more limited. I think the best overall is the Nexus. There single battery is fine but there's a dual battery option as well. I wanted to like this but I don't like it. Oh the backpack vacuum is awesome especially when on sale. Got like 4 of those.
