Don't get an inkjet, get a laser printer. Here are some of the main reasons that I think apply to most people including myself:

Inkjet costs multiple times more per page to print both black & white as well as color compared to laserjet cartriges. Yes, laserjet cartriges cost around $100 per full set of color + black, but they print between 1500-3000 pages total vs inket cartridges that only print a fraction of that amount of pages per cartridge making inkjet cost multiple times more per page than laserjet.
Inkjet heads dry up if you don't use them every month or so, so if you don't print for a few months you have to waste lots of ink with the automatic head cleaning cycle to make it print again. Some printers say the auto head cleaning cycle can use something like 10% of the cartridge to perform the cleaning cycle which is an insane waste of ink.
Inkjet ink runs when it gets wet (unless you get the even more expensive permanent ink), laserjet is always permanent.
It is easier to use very inexpensive aftermarket toner cartridges in most laserjet printers without an issue vs most inkjet printer companies block the use of any aftermarket cartridges because they are greedy a-holes that force you to use their super expensive name brand ink. I bought a Brother color laserjet printer because I saw that TN229XL black&white and color cartridges are only around $60-$70 for a full set and they print between 2500-3000 pages, so do the math on these vs any inkjet printer and you'll see that inkjet costs way more, often 10x more per page depending on which inkjet brand you're talking about.

This is a mega tank. The standard rules of ink don't apply.

I have both a color laser and this exact model. This prints better photos.

This is a solid price. No adf and no fax. The color is good for a 4 color.

Just print to it every month and you won't have an issue

So tempting, but its cheaper to just replace the ink sponge on my Brother scanner/duplex printer... more work, less spending. Must stay strong...
Not to mention that with ebay refilled ink cartidges, I'm paying $15 a year at most for printing done by the whole fam.

Did you even read anything about this printer before you started unloading on it?

This printer uses bottles of ink that print 6000 black pages and 7000 color pages per bottle, and each bottle costs far less than a toner cartridge. Also, bottles of ink cannot be "chipped" like toner cartridges. Buy any ink you want from anywhere and pour it in. Almost all HP printers are now "fixed" to force you to have to buy HP toner at ridiculous prices. They're also secretly updating firmwares of working laser printers and bricking them if you have non-HP toner installed. Also there is no way buying OEM toner cartridges cost $100 for a full set of color+b/w. Heck, you'll be lucky to pay $100 for just black.
Again, with tank style inkjets, there is volumes more ink in the tanks than those tiny old-style cartridges with the printhead built-in that you had to replace every few hundred pages. FWIW, my Canon PRO-100 gets used maybe twice a year and never clogs. It uses replaceable tanks.
Inkjet prints better photos by a mile. Getting anything you print wet is so unlikely, it's hardly a selling point.
You've got this backwards. HP blocks almost all their modern laser printers from using aftermarket toners, whereas tank style inkjets of any kind cannot be blocked because you can't block liquid. The printer has no way of knowing whether you're putting in OEM ink or cheap compatible stuff. Also, tank style inkjets typically ship with 2-3 years of ink IN THE BOX unlike laser printers that typically ship with "starter" cartridges and before you know it, you're empty and need to spend more to buy more toner. Big box clubs like Costco and Sam's club will add an extra bottle or two of black ink in the box as a bonus for free.

Your reference to Brother toners is for no-name Chinese toner. Real OEM is $420 for a set. For a no-name set of bottles of ink for an Epson Eco-tank inkjet is $25 and prints 17000 pages of black and 6000 pages of color. Not sure where you are getting ink costs 10x as much as toner.

Inkjets and laser printers each have their uses. There's no way you can say one is better than the other for everything.
