I have this, works perfectly well. Minor annoyance is that auto day is behind a pay wall so when you want to reprint a label with the current date, you have to toilet the day element on and off to update it.

I looked more into the tapes of this brand, it has a lock to them and you can only buy same branded tapes (expensive) vs other label makers that accept generic and therefore cheaper tapes ($2 +)

There are ways to unlock the ability to use non-niimbot labels via modified firmware. That being said, you can't use the NiimBot app with those labels due to how NiimBot handles things.

Overall though, for my D101 and the labels I specifically use, I have found the price of label tape when I purchase 3-4 rolls from non-Amazon sources to not be that much more expensive than the non-niimbot labels (maybe a $1 a roll different at most).

Keep mine near by for when I need a quick label. Had it for years now and very happy with it.

I just bought a three-roll pack on Amazon. 1440 labels for thirteen bucks. Cost works out to less than one cent per label. I like the machine. The app is obtuse.

Seems like the same deal that occurred a few weeks back. I did buy one and I don't regret it. Some of the reviews mention the accompanying app is "freemium".

if that bothers you, there's an open-source app on github that gives you all the bells and whistles of the freemium (not quite as pretty looking UI but it does work)!

Plenty of situations where you might want an automatic day.
