Controller was $65 a couple of days ago.

But yet another Xbox controller post, another thread of people crying about stick drift. Quick everyone! Let's toss in a "Hall effect" shout out for good measure, never mind that most people throw in that term without even knowing what it means. Let's just say it!

I have an Xbox One controller from 2014 that works just as well as it always has, along with a half dozen other Xbox controllers purchased throughout the past decade.

The only controllers I've ever gotten stick drift on were joy cons. Multiple pairs, which obviously was acknowledged by Nintendo as a defect given that they fixed them for free for years, even more than once if needed.

Why would you buy a half dozen controllers over the past dozen years if they all worked?
Either way, this forza controller doesn't look as good as the last one they had

Why would you buy a new pair of shoes when you already have a pair that work perfectly fine?

I don't know if this is an "I gotcha" attempt, but...

1.) I am a collector. For example, I have the Forza 5 controller, Doom Dark Ages controller, Starfield Controller, and will soon have the 25th anniversary controller.

2.) The Xbox One controller is not the same design as the Xbox Series controllers. There's been iterations over the years.

3.) The newer controllers have rubber grips on the back.

4.) One of my controllers is the elite 2, offering a different set of features.

5.) Im not a 1 person household.

6.) The later generation controllers have a different frequency with which they connect to the console. I don't believe a 2014 model can connect to a PC without a cable, whereas newer models offer more robust connectivity options,

Not at all a gotcha.
I personally wouldn't buy as new controller if the current one still worked, that's how I am with my gaming mice.
But being a collecter makes sense.

I have been playing and collecting since early 360 days. Xbox One and Series controllers have been terrible, BUT, it's not a problem unique to Xbox. Switch, PS3, PS4 controllers have all had issues. PS3 controllers I had a couple just stop working. PS4 controllers I had two with weak batteries that I had to replace as well as one with stick issues. Switch are rife with stick issues. Xbox though, there's a special place in my heart for Xbox, but the controllers have many issues. This used to seem like a me problem; perhaps just playing too much. However, with the group of friends I play with, we have ALL had the same issues. Most of my issues have been stick drift, but another common issue is the RB/LB plastic button breaking the tabs that actually press the switch snapping off. There's no reason to defend it. It's a real issue people deal with. I don't usually get mad because I see controllers as the cost of gaming. I just wish they would use stronger plastics for some of the components, especially in Elite controllers. Even plastic can be better and stronger.

I like this controller. I have one. Ended up with a great deal based on Amazon shipping me a crushed box. I liked the design, the pink Xbox button is neat, but the original price did stink. I think for that price they could have included a DLC car like FH5 controllers had. It's not selling well, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it drop to $60. There have been better deals already for it than this.
