These are often $500 refurb, probably a better deal. While it's a great camera I'd probably not buy it at this point unless you already have lenses for it.

Totally agree, it is a system where on a budget it might make sense, but you're going to add $200+ to get the FTZ adapter for any lenses you buy, when you finally jump to mirrorless. The Z50 II is a very similar camera with many of the benefits Mirrorless provides and about $900 used like new.

F mount lenses are dirt cheap. If you're buying this camera, you're not buying Z mount lenses

I never said you were. I said the problem was adapting them to Z mount. You can use f mount with Z mount, but you will never be able to use Z mount on F mount.

If you camp out on Nikon's refurb page you can get the Z50II for $655 like I did back in May.

You're on the uphill of F mount lenses. I paid $130 refurbed for my 70-300 AFP DX VR, now they're close to $300 refurbed. The 200-500 got as low as $600 and now is like $1000 used.

If you buy a Z mount you can get options like the Nikon 28-400 and Tamron 50-400, as well as using F mount lenses.

So thinking ahead I'd get the Z50II if you can wait for a deal.
