Seems like the most obscure band in the world to get a commemorative guitar.
But it's a great price on a Mexican Fender, and it may become a rare collectable.

So, I would not call them obscure at all. If anything, they broke down the door for song like Girls and Boys by Blur to exist. If anything, you might able to blame britpop on them.
Even if a bunch of musical ignorance were fixed, the aesthetics certainly aren't for anyone.

Just go to a music store and actually feel that.
"Why?"
If you want to .. I could go off on 2,000 words about why .. however, that would be opinion and not factual data.
I will go this far to present a reason why: Make sure you are OK, personally, with your guitar feeling like .. when you play it .. it is a total piece of complete and utter dogshit. Doesn't matter if it says "Gibson" on the end of the neck .. or PRS Limited Stock .. that doesn't matter. If you have a pau ferro fretboard, you better be OK with that feeling. You, personally, not me. You are the one considering the purchase. I wouldn't buy a guitar with pau ferro fretboard if you put a revolver to my head and threatened to blow my brains all over the wall.
But that's just me, Mr. Vegas.
