Ineffective in higher humidity climes, even if a reliable product. If you can find solid reviews, and live in a less humid climate like Northern Texas, then it may add value.

Not sure about this one, but this kind of thing can work pretty good for an individual cooler, especially if it has mist. Seattle heat isn't that bad, but on borderline hot days, I use one of these little swamp coolers and am happy I am not firing up energy hog AC.
