I personally think time has been good to this one. It holds up.

Its detached from the current MCU and has its own redeeming qualities, not to mention the CGI has aged gracefully. The dog fight still slaps.

It's bright and colorful when it needs to be and dark and gloomy in other times. Cool psychological examination of the birth of a superhero.

Lou was before my time. But I love rewatching the turn of the century Marvel movies like Ang Lee's Hulk, Raimi's Spider-Man and Singer's X-Men.

Your taste is excellent like mine! 😱🤣

I too loved Ang Lee's Hulk with the comic style framing and Raimi's Spider-Man. Not a huge fan of the newer ones.

Back then we weren't ready for (and didn't earn or deserve) an Ang Lee helmed avant garde Hulk movie. So we ended up with 20+ years of cookie cutter, washed out, CGI assault MCU mishmash. This one has a brooding Eric Bana, some great practical effects (like when Hulk throws Josh Lucas' character around), and measured CGI that holds up better than the MCU (Hulk vs the tanks or smashing the streets of SF actually look photo real).
