I prefer Bob's Red Mill Steel Cut Oats, 54 oz, 4-pak. Currently $16.89 after applying discount coupon and S&S. That works out to be a little less than 8 cents per ounce, quite a bit cheaper than the rolled oats.

Note: Some people don't like the chewy texture of the steel cut version.

I also prefer steel cut, but the OP posted organic oats. It's the one thing I buy organic. The organic steel cut also have a good discount making them about 10.5 cents per ounce.

I also prefer the Steel Cut Oats. How are you getting $16.89? I see $21.95 after coupon with S&S

I got a discount coupon that gave me $15.18 off. Amazon has an annoying habit of giving different discount rates to different buyers (dunno why).

For the people that eat oatmeal all the time, what toppings and stuff do y'all use?

Berries, banana, chia seeds, milled flax seed, walnuts, cocoa powder, cinnamon. You can also mix some natural peanut butter or chop an apple and cook it with the oats.

I bake with it. For most things I make, after running it through the food processor, I swap it 1:1 for all purpose flour.

Fresh fruit: one banana, half-an-apple, half-a-nectarine, or half-a-peach (never half-a-pear ... tastes terrible with oatmeal!)
Plus one tablespoon of granola: usually Quaker Oats, but any brand will do.
Occasionally a dash of cinnamon or maple syrup or honey for variety.

My favorite healthful combo is to make the oats in fat free milk (or almond milk), then add: slivered almonds or walnuts + dried cranberries + fresh blueberries. Excellent mix of protein + fiber to start your day with minimal blood sugar spike.
