But in all seriousness, I had a Hoover Dash, and it did not rust. Currently have a Hoover Power Scrub and also not rusted. Where and how did yours rust?

Had it for 4 years. It does a decent job cleaning the carpet. As previously mentioned, it does rust. My spot cleaner did quit after one year.

I dunno about these cheap carpet cleaners. We've went through at least 4 of them over the years. It MIGHT be better to save your pennies and buy a higher-end unit that'll last. Crazy, right?

We like the PowerScrub spinscrub sytle brushes better https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hoover...thena=true , and have been using one for over 14 years. It's no longer available but this is the one I'm referring to (purchased 4 Sep 2012) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013YPWE6 They are easy to use, easy to clean, and bridge the difference between a too small carpet shampooer, and a big clunky commercial style like the "green machine". Also, no brushroll hair wrap. If you get 10 years (reasonable to assume) out of it, it's worth it.

I had one of these replaced under warranty and the repair center said they have a design flaw. When the water gets full the plastic piece rises to block the suction BUT as it gets close to full the water sloshes around and gets sucked up into the motor causing rust inside so it gets louder as it tries to power rusted parts.

I like the hoover spin scrub better because it has a trigger for solution BUT it also has a design flaw where the drive of the spin scrub gets rusted eventually.

This model comes with a 5 year warranty so if you buy it make sure you keep the receipt and the return was easy I just took it in to the repair place they turned it on heard the motor, cut the cord and ordered the replacement.
