Its about the weight when you are taking real hikes. Not just to sit around the camp fire.

Bought a similar hammock-style camping chair at my local Costco on sale for $39.99 (normally $49.99). Can verify that they are a bit heavy but easy to set up. The carrying bag does make it easier to throw over your shoulder and walk with. Comfort is definitely worth the weight as it's better than any of the other rocking camp chairs I've tried, especially the hydraulic ones.

I also bought a similar hammock style camp chair from Costco a while back for half this price. Not sure if just a coincidence, but I bought it specifically for stargazing at night since you can set the recline really far back so you don't have to constantly crane your neck. Used it in west Texas where it is between Bortle Scale 1 - 3. Absolutely stunning.

Very fair. I will have to check the weight of this one vs Costco.

Sam's has similar ones for $37.92 that are fantastic.

This thing is WAY too heavy for hiking. It's 14+ lbs. My whole setup: backpack, tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and mini chair weighs less than 14 lbs total.

It's a car camping chair at best, at which point, the weight savings is moot. High end ultralight chairs like Helinox get close to 1lb range and are more expensive. Does look comfy though
