Typically, 30% of msrp is a good guess for true cost. So $2k watch costs about $600 out the door for manufacturer to distributor and to retail.

This was a grail watch for me when I started my watch journey but now I feel this watch would send my senses out of whack due to where everything is positioned like the day date and pushers also the busyness of the dial. Still a beautiful watch and about $300 down from the usual price Macy's sells them but I I'll pass on this one. 😔

Nah, not even close. It costs between $40 -$60 to manufacture it in China

Incompetent to say the least. First of all, it is a Swiss watch, meaning more than 50% needs to be manufactured/put together in Switzerland. Second of all, manufacturing costs are only part of all costs. There are also indirect costs needed to keep the lights on (e.g., rent, wages, marketing).
