18oz is too light for stubborn parts or even general work. Maybe this is more for someone trying to shape light gauge metal or wood work?

Yeah completely agree. I bought a Tekton set years ago (I think with a 16, 32, and 48oz). I pretty much exclusively use the 32oz and 48oz, mostly for whacking car parts/bolts loose.
