For those of you who aren't Plus or Total members, Verizon and YouTube TV are offering the exact same price. Renewed through YouTube TV last week for 8 monthly payments of $34.50 ($278 total, includes red zone).

especially since most every complete game is replayed on the nfl network all week long. the nfl network is included in many packages. i never need to see all games on game day. plus, replays allow fast forwarding through the mountain of ads.

Fair enough, but those are a pretty big commitment compared to Plus or Total. This makes the Best Buy membership pay for itself many times over without any other benefits.

Fair. But this has been offered since 1994. Price then was $99. Inflation adjusted price would be about $223 (Red Zone didn't exist then).

What have game tickets increased by in the same amount of time?

If you mean when DirecTV owned the rights, there was never a Best Buy sale but you could call retention and get discounts or sometimes even get the subscription for free.
