This is a slick deal. I'm very impressed with this unit that I installed this past weekend. It cools my bedroom very quickly and efficiently

If I'm not technically inclined, on average, how much would this cost to get installed by someone else?

The listing says this will heat down to some very low temp. Anyone know if it's true? I install a basic $500 12000BTU unit 2 years ago but it stops heating a little below freezing. Wish it would heat at lower temps. Unsure if this unit would be the same or if it's an upgrade. Wonder if I should buy this as a spare and store it or wait for a real hyper-heat type unit slick deal.

Min op temp is -13F. The only worry is that there is a loss of efficiency when heat is turned on and temp outside are low. What is the lowest temp for your region?

No. Not really. Its free if you just follow si.ple youtube instructions. All units now a days come already pre filled with freon and already vacuumed. Just watch the video and you will be good

I'm in MA and -13f is as cold as it gets but I'm skeptical if it will make usable heat much below freezing. Maybe I should save up for a hyperheat type model even if it costs 4x as much. I'd like to stop using oil.

That might be the way to go. There are some reddit posts that talk about hyperheat. They cost more, but cheapest i saw is Della 12k btu for a grand. If you are doing diy, it might be worth it.

I generally agree but people should be aware they'll need a 230v breaker in their panel, and they'll also need a carbide tipped hole saw if they're going to be drilling through stucco and block. And my understanding is that yes it's precharged but they still recommend vacuuming the lines. Mine arrives today and I'll just get use Autozone's free loan program for the gauges and vacuum pump.

Does this come pre-vacummed? I don't think they say that in the listing? I'm thinking between this and the Albott DIY series, the price different is huge Albott is 550$ but they come pre-vacummed so it makes a lot easier for DIY. Just wondering if this would be the same? Any recommendations?

You will need to vacuum the lines when you get them hooked up. It is filled with Freon on the outside unit only. This uses R32 which is somewhat cheaper then R454b. I think the -13F is being very optimistic, more like 0F or higher. Once the outside temp reaches about 40F the unit will cycle in defrost mode. Overall, a very good price.

The only unit I know that comes with precharged lines are the Mr Cool units. You have to pay a premium for those units. There are probably others but they won't be this cheap.

BTW, this shows OOS on Amazon now.
