I have this reciever, paid the same price, she is a beast, and sounds excellent, so basically your getting free speakers not bad! I don't know the quality of the speakers but heck its a start, you can upgrade later or even sell them and use that money to buy some nice towers to start! That reciever is killer!
Not a good package, the majority of the budget going to AVR which is way overkill imo. This is a 5.1 speaker package and not hard to drive. Better off going RC package+good entry level sub + slightly older used AVR imo.
I have this receiver, its not over kill, its a great reciever you can grow with, no need for external amps if you want expand like with other reciever. For example RZ50. Plus she has excellent DACs on board.

Older?? The newer model is not even out yet. Its a great reciever you can grow and hold onto for awhile. Good stuff!
I picked up a Hisense 100 in U8QG (2025) from Best Buy during Amazon Prime day for the man cave in my basement when they had it with free installation for $2220.27. As impressed as I am with the television, I'm equally unimpressed with the built-in audio, it's predictably not great at all.
I've been looking at sound bars and audio solutions for it like the Hisense Saturn or Samsung HW-Q990 sound bar, sub and rears. I'm working with a 2K budget or thereabouts, I was wondering if anybody could advise me if something like this might be a better option, I'm not a audiophile but I'm looking to get the best I can within my budget to fill my room with decent sound. My room size is 15'x26'.
I've visited my local Best Buy a couple times and have gotten conflicting advice. Wired vs. wireless is not a major concern, I can make either work, so hoping that somebody who's used something like this can give me an opinion.
