Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
It was down to just under $800 a few weeks ago. I got one in NH (no sales tax) during the summer sale that coincides with Prime Day for $763.99. Kind of a no brainer for me. I'm not much into taking pictures and the camera it does have works fine for me. I was switching from an iPhone 12, so battery life has been great, but I admit I still worry about the battery all the time. I make it through the day no problem with charging only to 80%, especially when I commute 20 minutes going home and charging in the car, even after the occasional doom scrolling when I'm home. Everyone says wait for the Air 2 that may come out in the Spring 2027 that will have the ultra wide lens and likely better battery, but with the price increases, who knows how much that will be.

I suppose it's an ok deal, if you don't have an iPhone to trade in; right now, if you get a new one via Apple and you have an iPhone to trade-in, the cash back you get from Apple is much better than trading it in via BestBuy
iPhone Air is only a good at less than $500. The speakers are beyond pathetic.
You meant "speaker" LOL... not sure if you got a bad phone, but mine does the job, even phone calls using loud speaker are clear. Not at Pro level, but acceptable.

You can always trade in at Apple for an Apple gift card, then use that towards subscriptions that you already have. I have Apple One Premier which is like $40 a month, so whenever there's a deal for Apple gift cards I always try to get them. Keep in mind though some subscriptions from companies other than Apple that are billed through Apple increase their prices to deal with the fees that Apple charges them, but not all of them do. Peacock also has a deal with Apple One where you can get it for cheaper than standard. Just putting it out there.
