just remember to use the DisplayPort (1.4) to get 165Hz as this uses HDMI 2.0 which will only get you 120Hz.

Sure but it never hurts to have it. Sometimes when you have no other speakers available and this is better than nothing.

I wonder if this can do 1440p 120hz with the Xbox Series X. I have a monoprice 32" 1440p 165hz and it will only do 1080p 120hz

I respect your opinion but disagree personally. I prefer to have one less audio device for Windows/Teams/Discord to get confused with.
