It's okay, the x3d AMD chips are better for gaming. But in this market beggars can't be choosers. So probably in some games 20 frame difference and some probably just a couple. There's some good yt videos comparing

Ultra 7 beats the pants off of AMD for sheer power. It's a beast for workstation power users. It falls behind in gaming though when compared to AMD's 3D processors which allows for a massive cache boost and minimizes latency and dramatically increases frame rates. Ultra 7 265K will be fine for most people for gaming though.

Personally I think the Acer for $60 more is a better deal because it doesn't have proprietary cards. That and AM5 will support zen 6 and 7 if you want to upgrade CPU in the future

Proprietary "cards"? Do you mean the motherboard connectors?

HP switched to standard ATX for the Omen series a long time ago. Even Alienware is pretty standard now.

Also, nobody should be worried about future CPU upgrades in this market. By the time you actually need one, you won't be able to afford everything else that also needs upgrading.

I'm told all chips from Samnsung, Hynix, etc are sold out/spoken for for all of 2027. Consumer PCs and GPUs be damned.

You're leaving out a lot of context here.

It's important to understand that most of these benchmark comparisons exist in a bit of hyperbole. Great for YouTube content, not so great for understanding.

Often, those dramatic frame rates are already being measured in the 100s on either processor, so it begins to have diminishing returns.

This is especially true if you don't have an expensive high refresh rate monitor to pair it with.

So, outside of a vacuum, either processor will do great when most games are GPU bound.
