well, I picked up 2 of the pixel 6a's from Walmart new for 99 dollars a piece (not sure how many years it was now, I'd have to check, I think it was the first year it came out, forgot) , and for 10 dollars unlocked them. I have enjoyed it very much. The last 6 months been looking to upgrade it, not sure if i will get next years model of pixel 11 or iphone 18 ...whatever the new models will be, not sure yet. i'm casaul user and for 99 dollars new i have enjoyed it the last number of years.
Moreover, a year ago, Google announced a recall on the Pixel 6a because of a battery issue. They offered $150 as a discount for buying a new one, additionally to a $80 trade-in value. Therefore, I paid around $30 and got a Pixel 9a.

Good. I hold my breath with Android and Apple updates. I have an LG from 2018 that runs great on Android 9. Android is secure if you dont pack a phone with junk apps and web crap.

The same morons that say software updates are a benefit are the same ones complaining that Google is taking away sideloading when the phone updates
